Receive Offer letter

If your application to study at Flinders University has been successful, you will receive an Offer of Admission to a course at Flinders via email.


If you applied to an undergraduate degree, you will have received an Offer of Admission for the highest preference for which you were qualified.


If you applied for admission to a postgraduate course (Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma, Masters, or PhD), you may receive a pathway Offer of Admission.

Step 2

Accepting your offer

To accept your Offer of Admission, please return a completed Acceptance Form together with a Streamlined Student Visa Framework (SSVF) Declaration, or a Genuine Temporary Entrant/Genuine Student (GTE/GS) Declaration Form and Financial Capacity Declaration (if required).

The Flinders International Admissions team will review these documents and advise of any further required documentation before you proceed to fee payments (Step 3).

Step 3

Activate your student account and pay your fees

Your initial payment is due when you accept your Offer of Admission. This payment may be the full commencing semester tuition fee or a deposit towards the first semester’s tuition fees, as requested on your Offer of Admission.

At this time, you must also make payment of your visa-length Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) or provide evidence of pre-arranged OSHC.

After you have paid your commencing semester tuition fee, remaining payments are required to be made online each semester depending on enrolment and topic selection.

You must activate your Flinders Account (FAN) to pay your fees.

How to obtain and Activate your Flinders student account (FAN)

  1. Go to the student computing page on the Flinders website to obtain your FAN.
  2. Enter your Student ID number and your initial password. (The initial password is the last four numbers of your student ID number followed by the day and month of your birthdate. For example, if your Student ID number is 2194567 and your birthdate is 4 March, your initial password will be 45670403).
  3. Click ‘Go’ and your initial password will be displayed.
  4. Read and agree to the Conditions of Use of the University’s ICT Resources and click on ‘Authenticate’ your FAN.

You will now need to set a secure password. You will use your FAN and password for a range of University services throughout your time at Flinders, including accessing the Student Information System to pay your fees.

Paying your fees


The International Centre recommends online payment, as the most efficient method of payment.

  1. Log into the student information system using the FAN and password you have recently created.
  2. Select the ‘My Finances’ tab at the top of the page, then from the left hand menu choose ‘Pay International Acceptance Fee’.
  3. Enter the ‘Amount to Pay’ as outlined in your “Offer of Admission” as well as your credit card details (Visa or MasterCard) to pay your account. Payment may take 2-3 working days to process.

Make cheques or money orders payable to Flinders University and mail to the following address:

You must quote your Student ID number on the reverse of your cheque/money order.

*Please note that you are unable to pay your fees using cash.

Step 4

Apply for your visa

Once your payment has been processed, the International Centre will issue you with a Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) document. You must have a CoE in order to apply for a visa.

If you do not provide a complete visa application including your CoE, OSHC Verification Letter, and a detailed statement of purpose and other required documentation at time of lodgement it may result in your visa application being delayed or refused.

Step 5

Pre-departure information

The International Student Handbook contains everything you need to know about making preparations for life in Australia, and studying at Flinders.

Once Flinders has received your tuition fee payment, you will receive a copy of the pre-departure guide.

Once you have confirmed your flight, please advise the International Student Services team of your arrival details by completing the arrival booking form. They will arrange to meet you at Adelaide Airport to welcome you to Adelaide and to take you to your accommodation.

Deferring you offer

With the exception of the Bachelor of Creative Arts, the Bachelor of Midwifery, the Bachelor of Clinical Sciences/Doctor of Medicine, and the Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics, applicants who have been offered a place in an undergraduate degree or diploma course may be permitted to defer their entry for 1 or 2 Semesters, based on compassionate or compelling grounds. This is subject university approval.

Application for deferral will be reassessed according to current GTE and GS guidelines.
